Envisioning a world "where every woman shines in her true self!"

On March 25, 2017, a group of ladies in Orlando, Florida met to discuss the needs of women in the community. Specifically, we recognized that there were many women, especially women of color, who were feeling isolated, alone, and unsupported with the many challenges of being a woman today. From single parenthood, to relationships, financial concerns, and our trans* identified sisters feeling isolated and on the margin. We felt a need to reach out and create a sense of community and support - empowering women to shine by creating a foundation of authenticity and sisterhood.  In January 2018, we were officially incorporated in the state of Florida. But even before then, we began our work of outreach and empowerment with three key objectives at heart:

• To affirm the dignity and worth of Women of Color 

• To uplift women by helping her to enhance her mind, body and spirit, and 

• To enrich our community through acts of service

To date, the Jewels of Color, Inc. has engaged in many outreach activities including: Providing blankets and food to the homeless in Orlando, participating in the Breast Cancer Awareness walk, supporting Veteran mothers for the holidays, supporting Trans* community outreach, and more.
